The Dryloc System: Revolutionizing Wood Siding and Trim

Nothing compares to the charm and appeal of wood siding and trim. Traditional techniques for producing and installing wood siding have always had their drawbacks. The Dryloc System was designed to eliminate these issues and allow designers and builders the opportunity to increase the curb appeal and value of their homes. Here are the issues that are addressed by the Dryloc System:

Expansion and Contraction
Water Issues
Penetration – Face Nailing
Coating
Caulk Failure Issues
Wind Load (Sheer)

Expansion and Contraction
Traditional wood siding has always had expansion and contraction issues leading to warping, bowing, caulk failure, and ultimately exterior envelope failure. The Dryloc System eliminates these problems in two ways. First, the revolutionary Dryloc Cut that is in all of our siding and the Patent Pending Dryloc Siding Clip system ensure that the siding is always straight, plum, and securely anchored to the house even when forces up to 205 psf are used to try to remove the siding. Siding literally cannot become uneven. Secondly, there is 1/8 inch of space given at each end of the siding and it is protected by our outside and inside corner system to allow for normal expansion, eliminating strain and warping.

Penetration – Face Nailing
Face nailing and other penetrations of the siding material are prime spots for failure. The Dryloc System of clips and flashings virtually eliminates the need for face nailing, vastly reducing the chance of failure while increasing the aesthetic appeal of the siding.

Caulk Failure Issues
The Dryloc System eliminates over 70% of the caulking issues associated with wood siding by eliminating the need for extensive caulking. Pieces fit together in such a way that caulk is not needed. This decreases the man hours needed to install the siding while improving its look and performance.

Water Issues
The installation techniques and special flashings used in the Patent Pending Dryloc System are specifically designed to divert water away from the home. Any water that accumulates behind the siding is weeped away and channeled downward through the Dryloc flashing system reducing it’s effect on the home’s envelope. Water damage and liability are greatly decreased.

Coating
Dryloc siding and trim come factory delivered either primed or coated in one of 15 Dryloc colors. Dryloc has the ability to do custom color in any color that the builder/designer could want.
